We are not just a fitness program. At Power & Grist CrossFit and Nutrition we are a vehicle for life change. Anyone that has been a member at Power & Grist CrossFit and Nutrition for more than a few months can testify to the unique environment that is fostered by our coaching staff and our community.
This place has become a “third place” for many of our members outside of the work and home life.
It’s a place they come to unwind, work off stress and know that they can be their true authentic self.
No matter what your background is, your age, race, religion, or political beliefs… In this gym, we are all athlete on the same journey. In this gym we all root for each other. We all push each other through difficult times, we all celebrate breakthroughs both physical and mental. In this gym, we all may look and act a little different but we are all part of the Power & Grist CrossFit and Nutrition family.
The small ripple effect that occurs from nurturing happier healthier humans, extends from gym life to the world around us.

our story
Power and Grist CrossFit in Lake Mills, Wisconsin was established February 2019 by owners Corissa Daines and Tina Sturn. Two women who have a passion for health, fitness, and people. We enjoy sharing our knowledge of balance, healthy eating, keeping the body moving while being proactive in their health while using natural solutions! We teach fitness classes based on functional exercise, athletic conditioning, plyometrics, kettlebell training, Olympic weightlifting, medicine ball and dumbbell training, gymnastics, rowing, running and jumping rope like many CrossFit gyms across the country.
CrossFit is a fitness program that is designed to be broad, general, and inclusive. Practitioners of CrossFit specialize in not specializing. The CrossFit methodology is designed for universal scalability, which makes it the perfect routine for any committed student regardless of experience, from cage fighters to grandmothers. Many police academies, tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide incorporate CrossFit into their strength and conditioning programs because it works. Our members are extremely diverse in their experience, conditioning, and lives. Power and Grist CrossFit is a community. Our atmosphere is one of support and camaraderie for anyone willing to put in the work.
CrossFit incorporates a variety of exercises including Olympic and power weightlifting, gymnastics, body-weight movements, running, rowing, and many other elements. We don’t have exotic weightlifting machines, treadmills, flat screen TVs or mirrors. We do have pull up bars, kettlebells, medicine balls, gymnastic rings, barbells and dumbbells. We have lots of floor space for push-ups, sit-ups and plyometrics. We have tires for flipping and ropes for climbing. Workouts often include several exercises performed back to back and for time.
Each class will include a WOD (workout of the day) your certified CrossFit coach will walk you through the WOD, movements, warm up and often specialized skill training. We work as a class to learn and cheer each other on, that’s what CrossFit is all about!
